Supply Chain Regulatory Review (closed)

Why this consultation is taking place

The Government of Canada is committed to supporting efficient and resilient supply chains. This Supply Chain Regulatory Review will examine federal regulations and regulatory practices, with a view to better support the movement of commodities and goods in Canada and across the border.

Through the Supply Chain Regulatory Review, the Government will develop a Regulatory Roadmap, outlining initiatives to improve the federal regulatory system and better support economic growth and innovation. Initiatives could include proposed changes to federal regulations or enabling legislation, as well as updated policies, practices, guidance or tools.

Your input will help to inform the Supply Chain Regulatory Roadmap and improve Canada’s supply chains. Join the discussion!

The deadline to submit is February 5, 2024.

Consultation objectives

The supply chain is a broad concept that touches on all aspects of the global economy, spanning interconnected networks that support the movement of raw materials, components, and goods before their assembly and sale.

Given the breadth of supply chains and associated regulations, we have identified three themes for consultation:

While the consultation focuses on these themes, other subjects may also be explored as this Regulatory Review unfolds. You are invited to submit other input related to the regulatory framework and supply chains under the Additional supply chain regulatory comments page.

This consultation is focused on the federal role. However, responsibilities for many parts of the supply chain are shared. As such, coordination and collaboration in this space with international, provincial, territorial, and Indigenous partners may be required.

For more information, including on how to participate and how your input will be used, refer to the About the consultation section.
